Subclass 870 to Parent Visa — We Can Make It Possible
AVC Migration : Precision, Skill and Solutions!
We guide you step by step so you understand exactly what needs to happen before your parent visa application can be lodged in Australia.
Thank you for choosing AVC Migration. If you are currently in Australia on a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa (Subclass 870), there is a clear process we must follow before lodging your parent visa application. Below is a simple explanation of the three key steps.
1
Apply for a Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
Because you are currently on a Subclass 870, we cannot lodge your parent visa directly. Australian immigration law requires the 870 visa to cease first. To do this, we lodge a Visitor visa (Subclass 600)
for you while you are in Australia. Once the SC 600
is granted, your SC 870
will automatically cease.
2
Travel Briefly Outside Australia and Return
This is a very important step. Immigration law requires that your last entry into Australia
must be as the holder of a valid visa before we can lodge your parent visa application. A short trip outside Australia and return on your SC 600 visa
satisfies this requirement. The trip does not need to be long — even a brief visit to New Zealand, Bali, or Singapore
may be enough.
3
Lodge the Parent Visa Application
Once you return to Australia, we prepare and lodge your parent visa application. At that stage, you will generally be granted a Bridging Visa A (BVA), allowing you to remain in Australia lawfully while your application is being processed. This helps protect your lawful status during the waiting period.
Important:
Timing matters. We will guide you on when to apply for the SC 600, when to travel, and when to return so the parent visa application can be lodged correctly and strategically.
