Common questions

Contributory Parent Visa fees: FAQs

Is the Assurance of Support bond a fee?

No. The AoS bond ($10,000 for one parent, $14,000 for a couple) is lodged with Services Australia and held as security. It's refundable, which is why we don't count it in the total visa cost.

What do I pay when the application is lodged?

Only the first Visa Application Charge: $6,300 for one parent or $8,445 for a parent couple. Your parents' queue position starts from the lodgement date.

When is the second Visa Application Charge paid?

At the decision stage, once the Department asks for it and the Assurance of Support has been accepted. It's $43,600 per applicant, so $87,200 for a couple.

What isn't included in these figures?

Health examinations, police certificates, translations and professional fees aren't included. We'll give you a full cost breakdown at your consultation.

Will the fees change?
