OUR PETITION TO THE MINISTER VIA THE PARLIAMENT PETITIONS

Petition Reason

The 2026–27 Budget cut 1,440 Parent Visa places from 8,500 to 7,060 — a 17% reduction. This worsens an already years-long backlog, separating families longer. We urge Parliament to reverse this cut and increase Parent Visa allocations immediately.

We therefore ask the House to restore Parent Visa places to pre-budget levels of 8,500 and reverse the 2026–27 Budget cut of 1,440 places immediately
